Have you ever taken the time to stop, look around at where you live and document your town in your scrapbook?

This past week's #hashtagthisweek theme was "My Town". I thought this was a marvelous prompt as where we live has such a major impact on our lives. I, along with my husband, worked on this project for nearly two weeks. We spent two evenings driving around town, visiting our favorite places and snapping photos. We also stopped at our local visitor center and picked up some brochures about the area even though we've lived here for four years together and my husband grew up here.
I decided I wanted to incorporate the #hashtagthisweek challenge with Meg's #1000wordstory challenge over at Marmalade Mementos. My husband is great at putting facts on paper so he took the time to document two full pages of history about the area in which we live and why we decided on buying a home here.
My favorite part of the project was documenting some of our favorite places in the area. Places like our local Seaver's Bakery (best doughnuts ever!), and some other local restaurants.
I also made a little list of other places we enjoy and printed them on cork circles for this embellishment pocket.
We made certain to document one of the largest industries in our area, a place that my husband now works at in addition to where I work.
This turned out to be a great project and we're really thankful we completed it. It will be exciting to see how things change should we ever move away, or even to look back on this in 20 years.
What do you love about your town?
Have you documented it in your Project Life album?
