Digital Scrapbook Pages | Gallery of Recent Layouts feat. Paislee Press and Kellie Stamps

When life gets busy, there's nothing more simple than creating a digital scrapbook page to document memories.  Since I've been focusing this year on other things, I've not had as much time to make paper pages, however, I have found time to create digitally.  This works so much better for me at this point in life because I can easily carve out 30 mins or so once a week to knock out a page or two.

I wanted to share some of my recent pages with you because several of them include new, fun designs from some of our favorite designers!

This layout features the Happy Birthday set, elements from Meant to Be and For Like Ever by Paislee Press.

What's the craziest thing you've ever documented?  My mom encouraged me to save our first grocery receipt after my husband and I got married. I loved creating this digital scrapbook page with a scanned copy of the receipt - preserved forever! This fun page uses the Good Food digital stamp set from Kellie Stamps.

This set of digital pages was super fun to make! I love the pops of color that the circles create. I paired them with a more simple page on the left side to balance the spread.  In these pages, I used Paislee Press elements from Year One, Eternal Sunshine, High Five and Pictures and Words No. 19.

JUNE RELEASE DAY FOR KELLIE STAMPS! | Creating 6x8 Hybrid Scrapbook Pages Using Digital Stamps Collections

GUESS WHAT DAY IT IS?!  That's right, it's RELEASE DAY at Kellie Stamps!  It's a little bittersweet for me because this is my last month for this term with the KS Creative Team.  I'm really going to miss these great gals and working with Kellie's designs regularly, but she already knows I'm a customer for life!

Kellie has two really awesome, new sets available which I'm featuring below.  As a hybrid artist, I just love using her digital stamps for titles in my pages. I can easily color them to match my photos and they make excellent focal points, as you can see!

PROJECT ONE:  THIS GIRL COLLECTION

This first set, This Girl, is super fun.  There's some pretty hilarious phrases in the set. Another personal favorite of mine is the one that says "This girl needs a donut."  LOL!    For the page I made creating with this set, I simply printed the 100% tired phrase off on white paper and used a tag punch to make a tag to slip behind my photo. Because of the bold text, it really makes an awesome eye catching embellishment.

PROJECT TWO:  CURRENTLY COLLECTION

For this second spread, I used the new Currently collection which is so stinking perfect for basically everything.  It's a versatile collection that's worth having in your stash of digital stamps (or physical stamps!).  For this layout, I made another tag and colored it pink in Photoshop Elements before I printed so it would tie in with the photo.  I included some elements from Pink Paislee's birthday collection and really love how this layout came together. It's simply darling.    Also, I must mention that the majority of the paper you see in these two spreads is from Felicity Jane Studio and the text template is from Paislee Press.

Using Digital Stamps for Hybrid and Digital Scrapbook Pages PLUS, New Releases from Kellie Stamps!

GUESS WHAT DAY IT IS?  It's RELEASE DAY over at Kellie Stamps! Kellie has two really awesome new stamp sets available in both digital and acrylic!  They are called Nuts About Food and Today Was...

Both sets are soooooooo versatile and so incredible! I'm in love with them.  Below are my two projects using the digital stamp versions.

My first project for the Kellie Stamps creative team was this one, creating a 6x8 hybrid scrapbook page.  I first arranged my digital stamps and journaling on a 6x8 mat in Photoshop Elements, then printed that page off on my home printer.  Next, I layered some colorful paper, a photo and embellishments on top, then punched my holes and voila!

8.5x11 Digital Scrapbook Page created by Mandy Elliott of Turquoise Avenue using the new Today Was digital stamp collection from Kellie Stamps!

My second project is much simpler. I created a 8.5x11 digital scrapbook page using recent images, a digital paper and template from Paislee Press then used the REAL LIFE digital stamp from Kellie's new release as the title for this page. I'm so excited to do create more pages like this because at the end of the year I plan to print all these pages together in one simple, easy to read photobook!

Have you ever used digital stamps before? If so, what do you love about them?  If not, what has held you back?  I'd love to share or answer any questions you might have about using digital stamps in your projects!

Raise your hand if you're still playing catch up on your 2016 album!

(shamelessly raises my own hand)

Don't feel bad. If you're still catching up on your album, that just means you were having too much fun MAKING memories instead of documenting them. Let me share this and make you feel even better about being a little bit behind - I haven't even started on my 2017 album!  And I'm ok with that!

Instead of feeling the pressure to "keep current" and take lots of photos, I'm finding myself enjoying a relaxed month, catching up on last year's projects, dreaming about the year ahead and working on other things. Today, however, I'm here to share my first project as a new creative team member for Kellie Stamps!

Kellie Stamps Creative Team Members for 2017

I had the pleasure of working with Kellie and her physical stamp sets back in 2015.  Well, last year she began offering digital stamp sets and I was in love... As a hybrid memory keeper, I love using digital stamps to make my own journal cards, which is exactly what I have done here with the new Looks Like Summer collection that Kellie just released.

Since it is summertime in Australia, were Kellie is based out of, they're enjoying warm sunshine while I'm here watching it rain in January.  I grabbed these photos from last summer and created a page worthy of summer fun for this layout as I work on catching up in last year's album.

In my top photo, I used two separate digital stamps from the Looks Like Summer collection to create my own phrase to accompany our kayaking photos.  In addition, I paired it with two printed cards from One Little Bird's Soleil collection and topped my layout with a cute wood veneer from Color Cast Designs and some string. I just love how the page turned out!

Stay tuned because I'll be sharing another page I created digitally using more of Kellie's digital stamps just released in January.  Be sure to grab her sets now, I promise you'll love them!

Look Down, Look Up feat. Kellie Winnell | Weekly Prompt and Link Up for Memory Keepers and Creative Bloggers

Hi everyone!

This week our Featured Guest is none other than the fabulous Kellie Winnell of Kellie Stamps! You've probably seen her awesome creations floating around Instagram or her blog, Give a Girl a Blog, each week for our last several prompts.  I'm so excited to have her hosting this week and sharing with us!

Look Down, Look Up | Weekly Prompt and Link Up for Memory Keepers and Creative Bloggers

I read a quote once that said something like, "It doesn't matter what you look at, it matters more where you look from. "  I thought that was pretty applicable to Kellie's prompt this week.  It's always good to slow down and take a look around us. Look down - what do you see? Where are your feet taking you? Perhaps you have a view of your children playing on the floor as you stand above them? Look Up! What do you see?  A beautiful sky?  A certain cherished item that sits perched on a shelf in your home?   Change your perspective this week and look up, then look down and take some time to document it.

Guilty Pleasures | A Weekly Prompt for Memory Keepers & Link Up featuring Kellie of Give a Girl a Blog!

Hi friends!  I am REALLY excited about this week's prompt for two reasons. First, it is my birthday week and this prompt is giving me the authority to indulge myself! Secondly, because our host this week is none other than KELLIE FROM GIVE A GIRL A BLOG and Kellie Stamps!

I began following Kellie online very early in my creative career. I love reading her blog and seeing her never ending inspiration! I was even fortunate enough to be a part of her creative team for awhile!  Without further ado, here's Kellie's prompt ---

Guilty Pleasures - a November prompt for memory keepers via Turquoise Avenue, featuring Kellie from Give a Girl a Blog.

This week's prompt is all about those little (or big) indulgences we offer ourselves from time to time. If you're like Kellie and I, the majority of them include food!  I totally adore how Kellie created this simple page from the Project Life app to document her own personal preferences.

Guilty pleasures of mine are sweets, mainly donuts, way to many coffee’s, gaming and taking feet shots!
— Kellie

Documenting Bad Days | 12x12 Project Life Memory Keeping Inspiration feat. Big City Quiet Designs

Sometimes life just sucks... Its not always easy, its not always good, and occasionally it can be downright cruel.  Now, I'm certain that times can always be worse or there is someone out there who is suffering much more than a simple bad day... But I've learned to embrace life as it comes, not sweat the small stuff and just keep going.

But bad days do happen.  And what's a girl to do when a bad day pops up and rears its ugly head?   SCRAPBOOK IT, of course!

At the beginning of this year, we experienced some of the coldest temps we've had around here in a long time... Snow for weeks (that's not quite the normal around here) and frigid temperatures at night. One particular evening after work, my husband offered to drive me in our 4-wheel drive to Hobby Lobby... However, on the way there, his driver's side window regulator went out, leaving the snow blowing inside and the frigid air absolutely freezing us.  We don't have a garage and our vehicles have to sit outside so my poor husband determined to fix that regulator that night.  After an expensive trip to the auto parts store, he returned home to begin the repairs, taking the entire door apart only to find the auto parts store sold us the wrong part!

I felt so bad, trying to help him keep warm and get the window repaired outside int he dark. It was just one of those days that had turned into one of those nights... If you know what I mean.

So when I decided to include this story in my Project Life album, I took an idea from Rachel Del Gross on Instagram to stamp the word  "Ugh" using some Kellie Stamps, snatched up a few designs from her store at Big City Quiet, and set to work documenting this not so good day.

A simple layout over all, but love how it tells the story of what happened!

Have you ever had a bad day that got recorded in your scrapbook too?

Today I'm sharing a new layout I recently created using some brand new designs by Big City Quiet.  As many of you know from this post about trying things outside your comfort zone, we recently purchased some kayaks and have been hitting the lake or river nearly every weekend.  The brightly colored kayaks and fresh, summer sky call for vibrantly colored cards and this new set of designs from Big City Quiet was the perfect match!

Along with Rachel's designs, I paired in some striped paper from the Project Life Midnight set. Its one of my favorite sets and matches so well.   I also included some Kellie Stamps because they are just so fun!

Since we went to a park outside the state we live in, I just had to collect some memorabilia from the trip so I was able to mix in a bumper sticker, a map, and a park brochure for my layout.

6x8 Project Life Layout | Pocket Page Style Scrapbook feat. Little Lamm Co.

This week's theme is My Special Someone.  Now, I have several special someone's in my life.... In fact, all my family and friends are special to me in a unique way.  I'm the type of person who knows a lot of people but only has a handful of people I hold close.  My best friend and my Mom are very close to me... I do plan to take the time to document each of them soon and what makes them to dear to me.

But when it comes to that most special someone, it has to be my husband.  I know I brag on him a lot, but I truly believe that God designed him in mind for me. There's no other logical explanation... As a young adult, in and out of relationships, when I met my husband there was something immediately different about him versus the other guys I'd known. He was not just an adorable guy to date, he was a good friend. A true friend.  Out of that foundation of friendship, came a strong, vibrant relationship.  I can't imagine life without him now.  He's truly become my other half.

As result, my special someone is my husband and in this simple, yet colorful layout, I took a few moments to write out a simple journal entry and record seven things that I admire about my husband.

My husband leads our home with such a great, godly example. Sometimes, I'm not even sure he knows he's doing it.   His strong suits are my faults.... He never complains, I on the other hand, tend to be a little grouchy sometimes. He's so compassionate about others and his beliefs while I tend to be a little more self centered and hard-hearted.  But whenever I feel these faults in myself, I see them shine bright in my husband as a strength so I desire to be like him. He makes me want to become a better person.

So often I'm led to believe that's God's entire design for marriage. In fact, it's His design for the world.  Just as I desire to grow as a person because of my husband, so God desires for us to grow as believers because of His Son, Jesus.  Its a beautiful comparison and I pray that each and every one of you know the beauty of a strong marriage and a personal relationship with God.
