Introducing 2018 Calendar Templates from Paislee Press | A DIY Calendar Project

Happy Thursday, friends!  Can you believe that it is now November?  You guys, we are so close to twenty-eighteen! It's hard to believe...  So while I'm over here all flabbergasted and wondering where the year went, my sweet friend Liz over at Paislee Press has been designing and releasing 2018 calendar templates!

I was excited to put together a digital calendar template to keep on my computer desktop and then I printed a copy to hang on the wall of my office. I used a clipboard as a simple base and set it on one of the shelves over my work desk.  Easy, peasy!

If you love the template I used below, then you'll really enjoy some of the projects from my fellow creative team members. Pop over to Liz's blog to finds all sorts of great ideas for using these templates and turning them into Christmas gifts, wall art and more!

DIY Baby Onesie Using a Cricut Explore Air 2, Stencil Vinyl, Fabric Paint and New Designs by Paislee Press

Hi friends, I'm so excited to be sharing this super fun, different sort of project... Many of you already know that my husband and I are adopting a child.  As a result, I've been in nesting mode lately, gathering and making things for a baby. Since we don't know yet whether we will be having a boy or a girl, I've been collecting gender neutral items.

When Liz over at Paislee Press released the Scenic Route collection, I was immediately enamored with it.  I'm so excited to use it in my pocket page scrapbook and digital scrapbook pages, but first, I just had to use it to make some baby onesies!

With a little text advice from my sweet friend Emily (Desk of Confetti), I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 machine to kiss cut Liz's designs out on stencil vinyl.  The vinyl is adhesive so after weeding the design on the cutting mat, I peeled the backing off the stencil, adhered it to a pre-washed onesie and slid a piece of chipboard between the layers of the onesie.  Next, I used a foam brush to apply black fabric paint.  I allowed the onesies to dry for 24 hours, then carefully peeled the stencil vinyl away.  Next, I used a pressing cloth and iron set the paint on the onesie.

I just love how cute these are and know I'll be making more soon!

Blurb, my favorite book maker, has a really awesome new feature that will allow you as a blogger or memory keeper to turn your online content into a book!

Turn Your Blog Into A Book! How to Gain an Income from Your Online Content - Perfect for Memory Keepers, Bloggers and Entrepreneurs!

The new BookWright tool from Blurb pulls texts and images directly from blog builders like Blogger, Wordpress or Squarespace, just to name a few. You will have control over the conversion of the blog pages into your print products with BookWright's assistance.

How cool is that?  I can see this being a really useful tool if you blog photos and short, personal stories - think of the memory keeping albums you could create! Or, perhaps if you are a food blogger and share lots recipes you'd like to bind into a book?  Or... What if you post a bunch of tutorials and want to turn those into a book for passive income?!  The possibilities are endless!

Take a look at this book I created with Blurb, showcasing my photography business and a look at what my webpages looked like on the website I had used for many years.

#CraftCreateConnect - Join the Movement! | Uniting together as creatives to build community, share joy and invoke love.

Hello Friday and Hello Friends!

In today's world, our hearts sometime grow very heavy with darkness that happens around us and is constantly touted by the news media. It is something that weights heavily on me as I pray for our country and those around the world facing trials and division. Shining a light in the darkness seems to be the only way.

No matter how dark the day, I'm always delighted and overjoyed to scroll through my Instagram feed.  There, hundreds of beautiful women share their crafts, creations, memory keeping projects and ultimately their hearts. I have been so blessed by the incredible community on Instagram and enjoy finding ways to share and spread the love I receive there. Uniting together as crafters and encouraging each other builds community, creates joy and invokes love.

How to Create DIY DVD Cases for Home Movies! A quick look at using digital scrapbooking products to create your own case covers.

Many of you may remember my Memory Keeping with Video series I released here on my blog earlier this year.  In that series, I discussed how I was converting old VHS tapes of home movies to DVD.  I've been working on this project throughout the first half of this year and had begun to burn some of these recordings to DVD.  My husband ordered these clear, slim DVD cases and I found myself searching for a way to label these boxes.

The cases had a clear plastic sleeve on the outside that would allow a piece of paper to be slipped in.  I used these 6x8 templates from Liz Tamanaha, available at the Paislee Press store on the Lilypad. They worked perfect!  Using Photoshop Elements, I simply placed the 6x8 template on the right side of a landscape oriented 8.5x11 canvas.  Then, on the left side, I added a digital watercolor from the same Modern Art collection and added some text to label what was on each disc.   I then printed this on a sheet of 8.5x11 white cardstock, trimmed the paper down a touch and viola! They look great!

Using Digital Scrapbooking Products for Instant Home Decor | Valentine's Day DIY Craft Idea

Hi friends! Today I wanted to share a quick idea I had after a recent phone conversation with my best friend in Florida. She had mentioned that she and her kids had decorated their house for Valentine's Day already and it got me to thinking that I don't even own any Valentine's decorations.

So instead of going out and buying some, I repurposed a 5x7 photo frame into a cute little display for our kitchen counter, using a card and digital paper from the L'amore collection by Little Lamm & Co.  I simply printed out the digital paper on a 5x7 card, printed the smaller 3x4 journal card, trimmed them both up, and adhered them with some washi tape. Then I topped it off with a simple, gold-foil arrow and viola! Instant, inexpensive home decor. I love it!

2015 Top Blog Posts | A Blog for Memory Keepers and Creatives

When I started this blog at the beginning of 2015, I first desired just to have a space to share my thoughts and what I'd learned in my years as a self proclaimed memory keeper. I set a few goals and created #hashtagthisweek as a way to give back to the community that was inspiring me so much. I never imagined the popularity and growth this blog would suddenly take on.   I am so passionate about memory keeping and the things I share here; I merely hope to inspire others in their own lives and journeys.

So, as twenty-fifteen comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on a year that brought about new friends and exciting new opportunities. I also want to thank those of you in the creative community who have commented, shared, taught, encouraged, and uplifted me along this fun, creative journey! I wish you all the best in the upcoming new year and I'm excited to see what it holds for us all!

Happy New Year!
