Yesterday afternoon, I spent the day at home so I was able to get some work done on my album in between processing new store orders and doing some much needed housework.  This week, Tracey prompted us to create a seasonal manifesto.  What a fun idea!  I probably sat at my desk for thirty minutes trying to think of what I want to accomplish this summer... In the end, it came down to simple joys - eating ice cream, spending time with family, attending a local festival, and just soaking up the fun of summertime.

I created my cover page by printing on clear vellum and this brush script from Little Lamm Co.

Next, I layered in another piece of vellum that I picked up a local scrapbook store, along with some rub on flowers I had stored in my stash as home. I topped it off with one of my cork stickers, available in the Shoppe.

Then, I included my Summer Manifesto, using this free printable by Ruth Clark that I found on Pinterest!  I also stamped on it using this set of stamps from Kellie Stamps with gold ink.

Just for fun, I added a Project Life spread to give a nice pop of color and bring in some summer warmth.  I used the new Scoop journal cards from One Little Bird and the "Happy Place" wood veneer from Color Cast Designs.

I wanted this album to be a little bit more exciting and non traditional, so I've mixed in a few surprises along the way, like this planner page I took out of a notebook.  I jotted down our normal routine and then followed it with some journaling about finding JOY in the every day routine, noting things I was thankful for.  I finished the page off with some simple enamel dots I had in my stash and a gold stamped palm tree from my Mom's stamp collection.
