Y'all! I'm totally in love with this newest collection from One Little Bird. It's called Hyannis and you can find it here.
Hello lovelies! I'm so excited to be here today sharing a beautiful, new collection from Peppermint over at One Little Bird. This collection is called Between Us and it's beyond adorable. The color palette is so perfect and it's incredibly versatile for documenting a wide range of stories, including pets, couples, family and friends. Pop over to the Lilypad today to check it out!
Did you know that each month the Paislee Press Creative Team comes together to provide a virtual gallery of inspiration? That's right, it's called the Press Exhibit and you can find all the recent posts here.
I am honored to be featured there each month using some of my favorite designs from the Paislee Press store. Today, I'm sharing a beautiful spring 9x12 pocket page spread I created, that will be featured in this month's Press Exhibit, using the Bloom collection.
How perfect is this collection? I mean, seriously?! #allthehearteyes
Happy Tuesday, friends!
For many of you who live in the northern United States, you're probably enjoying (or suffering through) a snow day today... For me, though, I've seen a couple of snowflakes fall here, but really it's just cold and overcast. So to brighten up the day, I'm sharing this cheerful, new release from Peppermint Granberg of One Little Bird Designs! It's called Duly Noted and the soft, subtle tones of this kit are just gorgeous! I found them perfect for documenting some photos from winter of 2016! You can purchase this new collection right here.
As you can see, I'm slowly finishing out spreads with last year's photos. For this year, I haven't even started an annual album. Instead, I've been so focused on adoption plans, my new Big Picture Class which premiers soon, and a fun little personal album I've been working on. As a result, I'm planning to take the year off from making an annual pocket page album and I'm going to create an annual photobook instead. If you have any tips for creating a photobook, I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, I'll just be over here continuing to finish out my 2016 pocket page album! lol.
What are you currently working on?
HAPPY SATURDAY FRIENDS!
If you've been wondering where I've been, well, I'll tell ya. Buried somewhere under a mountain of adoption paperwork and working my little fingers to the bone. We are so excited for this beautiful, time consuming journey and the joy that it is bringing us in the hope of a sweet little babe soon! You can read the latest update here.
With that being said, I'm super excited to share something else I've been working on... I now have JOURNAL CARDS available in the Turquoise Avenue shop! Yes, you read that right! Each set of journal cards is just $2 each and your purchases help support our adoption fund! The digital downloads will include four digital jpeg files for my digital loving friends and for all my fancy hybrid artist friends, each set includes an easy-to-print .pdf file! So yes, all you have to do is purchase, download and print!
The shop seems a little sparse right now, but I promise I have some fantastic sets up my sleeve. In addition, I'll be offering a GIVEAWAY here and there so if you're not already signed up for my newsletter, be sure to do so here so you can stay on top of all the new releases.
Thank you for your support and have a lovely weekend y'all!
I just had to share this page super quick. I'm still catching up in my 2016 album and had one particular day where my family and I went exploring in the National Park. We took a ton of photos with our GoPro that day so I had a photo-heavy layout. I wanted to keep everything condensed to one page and realized I had no where to journal!
I decided to choose my favorite photo of the day, a photo of all four us, and used this template from Paislee Press to highlight the story in a 6x8 overlay for the photo-heavy 9x12 page. Seriously, you guys... Minimalism at it's best!
Why haven't I done this before???
I'm obsessed. I'll definitely be returning to this technique soon!
What do you think?
How do you work in journaling or stories when you have spreads with so many photos?
Happy Monday friends! While I may not have started working on my 2017 Annual Pocket Page Album, I have created a few spreads in my 6x8 personal album. I really love this size, it's just so fun to work with and I don't feel like I need a large group of photos or stories to work with.
Recently, Liz over Paislee Press released the cutest edition of digital designs called Positive Vibes. I fell in love the with color palette first and then with the phrases the kit offers. You've got to go check out!
Oh, and if you're interested in learning more about my personal album, stay tuned because in April of 2017 I'll be teaching a class over at Big Picture Classes all about documenting YOURSELF with some really awesome prompts and tips. (check out my other BPC Class here)
Want to stay in the loop for more details on my upcoming class?
Raise your hand if you're still playing catch up on your 2016 album!
(shamelessly raises my own hand)
Don't feel bad. If you're still catching up on your album, that just means you were having too much fun MAKING memories instead of documenting them. Let me share this and make you feel even better about being a little bit behind - I haven't even started on my 2017 album! And I'm ok with that!
Instead of feeling the pressure to "keep current" and take lots of photos, I'm finding myself enjoying a relaxed month, catching up on last year's projects, dreaming about the year ahead and working on other things. Today, however, I'm here to share my first project as a new creative team member for Kellie Stamps!
I had the pleasure of working with Kellie and her physical stamp sets back in 2015. Well, last year she began offering digital stamp sets and I was in love... As a hybrid memory keeper, I love using digital stamps to make my own journal cards, which is exactly what I have done here with the new Looks Like Summer collection that Kellie just released.
Since it is summertime in Australia, were Kellie is based out of, they're enjoying warm sunshine while I'm here watching it rain in January. I grabbed these photos from last summer and created a page worthy of summer fun for this layout as I work on catching up in last year's album.
In my top photo, I used two separate digital stamps from the Looks Like Summer collection to create my own phrase to accompany our kayaking photos. In addition, I paired it with two printed cards from One Little Bird's Soleil collection and topped my layout with a cute wood veneer from Color Cast Designs and some string. I just love how the page turned out!
Stay tuned because I'll be sharing another page I created digitally using more of Kellie's digital stamps just released in January. Be sure to grab her sets now, I promise you'll love them!
Hi everyone! Here we are, nearly half way through the month of December and I'm just now getting around to sharing a peek into my album.
Let me start by saying I created my 2016 cover page (shown below) and fell in love with this little holiday album. I had so much fun creating my album last year, that I really looked forward to this year. I wanted to keep thing simple, coordinated and really focus on the stories of the season. In my mind, I saw exactly what I wanted this album to be.
However, over the last two weeks, I've struggled immensely with getting it right. What I mean by that is, my heart doesn't seem to be in it. I WANT my heart to be in it and I've made time to create, but many times when I sit down to craft, the pages just aren't coming together like I wanted them to. I've taken them apart, redone them, set them aside and come back later... In the end, I just feel blah. My album feels haphazard and uncoordinated, which is so unlike me.
I have never had this happen, friends.
I've thought long and hard about what's going on, why this isn't working for me right now and I simply decided that my heart is in another place.
So for now, here are the pages I have created this far. My plans for the project are to still compete it, but not under any timeline. Not this month, and maybe not even next month. But rather, when I can invest more of my heart into it.
Until then, I plan to still journal my memories and continue taking photos of this holiday season. If the inspiration and desire hit, I'll most certainly work on my album...
I guess what I'm trying to tell you is that if life has a way of overwhelming you or stealing your joy, especially at this season, don't be afraid to extend yourself a little grace. Take away the self imposed deadlines and stop comparing yourself and your work to others. Create and memory keep because YOU want to, in WHATEVER way works best for you at that particular time. If I can do it, you can do it too.
All my love my friends... Happy Holidays!

Autumn is one of my favorite times of year. It gives way to winter which is my favorite season so I always adore that stepping stone into the magical holiday season.

Recently, Peppermint Granberg of One Little Bird Designs released the Turning Leaves collection (links below). She perfectly captured the amazing beauty of this season. I loved working with this collection so much, I've already used it twice. You can see it pictured in the layout below as well as in my DIY Gratitude Journal.
In this spread, I used a 12x12 page protector, divided into 4x4 pockets. I inserted my photos and printed the designs on 4x6 paper then trimmed them down as need. I used my Cricut Explore Air 2 to cut the elements I had printed to use as word art and embellishments. These pages are part of my 2012 album. You can see more from that album here.
If you're interested in learning more about how I've completed an entire year's worth of an album in just a few short weeks, check out my Big Picture Class here for all my tips and tricks!
